As its name indicates, this nice application is intended to resize – or change the resolution – of our pictures files so we can easily move them within our hard disk, share them via e-mail with friends, up-load them to our web space and so on. Besides the resizing of the pictures we also will be able to copy, convert into other file formats to save disk space, import, rename and organize them.
A remarkable characteristic of the VSO Image Resizer is that it integrates into the Windows Explorer. Then, directly pushing the right mouse button over the files we want to work with, we will find the Image Resizer shortcut listed down the pop-up menu.
After that, everything runs smooth and easy. The VSO IR “shows his face” asking a couple of simple questions about the tasks we want to do. This questions are:

1.Profile: we choose from a wide range of possibilities.
2.Resolution: wich is defined in pixels or as a percentage from the original.
3.Filtering: gives us three quality options: Low, Medium, and Best.
4.Format: the options we have are: As original, Bitmap (.BMP), JPEG (.JPG), GIF (.GIF), PNG (.PNG).
5.Quality: available only if we want to convert our images to JPEG or leave as Original.
6.Keep aspect ration of original: no comments required.
7.Action: allows us to choose whether we want to make a “copy” of the images, “Resize the original”, or “move” the converted images to another location.
8.Destination: is where we want to save our images.
9.Save as default: to preserve our settings for the next task.

So, what can we do with this application? We can...

Convert the format of our image files.
Change the compression rate and resolution of the images.
Work with an image at a time of in batch mode.
Up-load images to personal web sites of send them by e-mail.
Impor directly from external memory cards.

The VSO Image Resizer is freeware! So we are not spending a buck for all this cool functions. It's also optimized for Windows 2000, XP and Vista and supports multiple languages such as Spanish, German, French among others.
